Mini-Update 2

I had my hair cut. :3

But then, I had the most horribly god-awful breakout of acne I have EVER experienced, so no pictures. >:

Also moved back to the Philippines. A lot of things changed here in the year and a half I’ve been gone. The little area which was mostly quiet and suburban is not getting its ass kicked with urban development. Buildings are going up, houses are filling up the empty neighborhoods and bringing all the noisemakers with them. I think there’s twice as much exhaust pollution here now than before, and before was pretty bad. Not to mention that traffic has gone to a ridiculous point of inaccessibility. Feel free to shave an extra two hours off your day solely for traveling. And bring a mobile toilet in your car.

Know what I miss about the Philippines? The roaches. The goddamn roaches. How could I have lived without them. -w-

I also missed the food. Since I’ve been dieting, I’ve been craving more vegetables and seafoods, which the best my pallet can handle are Philippine cuisine. Been trying to learn to cook those kinds of dishes, but the states usually isn’t equipped with the same exotic ingredients you can find here.

But besides that, things are going alright. I’m in more of an art mood than I was before so maybe I’ll be able to put up more drawings and such and maybe even get back into working on commissions. Lots of big projects at the moment, and perhaps I’ll be able to get to work on the rest of my blog pages for commissions and my portfolio.

In the meantime, I do sketches of mah buddy Luke cause it was his birthday recently and I dun give him enough love. >3>

Mini-Update

A lot of things happened, a lot of things going on that I would have a journal full of meaningful and riveting tales…but that would be for a time when I can calmly collect my thoughts long enough to do so. Lately I’ve been mostly distracted by vidya games, mostly TF2 and, recently, Killing Floor.

I mostly play Pyro Dodgeball nowadays, which is a good alternative to the ‘run and shoot and watch your ass get blown up/backstabbed’ style of regular TF2 play. Oh, you still get blown up – you’re airblasting rockets and nukes at each other after all. But it won’t require as much concentration and organized teamwork. You basically got two teams of Pyros and a rocket spawner. The goal is to outlast the other team by making sure you –DON’T- get blown up by rockets by way of simply airblasting incoming projectiles as per traditional Dodgeball, or, taking a twist by actually distracting the opposing team by way of airblasting them around the map, either into a hole, pit, fire, or just constantly juggling them enough to distract them from protecting themselves. Voogru is one of the better game servers with an excellent community behind them and a variety of gimmicky maps. If you wanna try your hand at it, you can visit their forums here: http://www.voogru.com

I’ll make a more detailed journal soonish.

P.S:
I had a semi-good sketch available, and the realized retarded Sai didn't save it. ):< So this will have to do for the moment.

Cold Butts

The cold season’s rolling along and I can feel it. It was only a week ago we were still in the ninties, and in the course of a few days quickly dropped to as low as sixty degrees. Might be just the cold front coming in, but I can already remember the stinging winter bite from last year’s freak weather. Lucky me huh to experience one of the coldest temperatures Tampa has ever went through in decades. I mean…it never goes below sixty in the Philippines, never! At least from what I can remember, cause I get cold easily and the only times I ever get cold is when its been raining for a long time without sun.

Also learned that my years in the tropical climate has pretty much made me cold-blooded. I freeze even in air-conditioned rooms- I can’t handle being in temperatures below 75 for too long. >.< I’m pretty sure when I used to live in Chicago I wasn’t this picky about temperature, but dang, it can’t even touch the fifties without me going “HOLY CRAP ITS COLD!”

So now’s the time for sweaters, scarves, and cuddles. I personally don’t mind the wintertime for the last one. <3

Blog Overhaul

Not a lot new to report on, besides the obvious blog overhaul. It took an entire week to recustomize the journal. CSS guro I am not, but I sure as hell can learn how to work with it. Just takes a lot of time and testing and understanding which code does what. Not to mention putting up the images; those took a bit of time as well. There are still some tweaks, like the pages the buttons direct to and possibly adding some junk on the sidebars (cause I love putting junk XD), I’m pretty much happy with it.

I also (shamelessly) added a Donation link, the idea of which I got (shamelessly) from Kilplix’s own blog. XD; Considering I’m on my last five bucks, it would be a reasonable action to put it up. And because I HATE asking and begging for help like so many other artists (who may or may not require such cash for certain circumstances), I’m just going to place a handy little button right there letting it be up to whoever would be nice enough to contribute. I wouldn’t just run off with a half-hearted thank you though…I plan to return a commission to every person that donates as a way of thanks. I can’t seriously work to offer commissions with my schedule right now, but a return gift for kindness is perfectly manageable.

Trying to study nowadays. Might go on till the 19th, when I take the actual test. When I’m not studying I’m trying to apply for college. I think its my best course regardless of whether I pass or not since some of them do offer services to help students get jobs, as well as providing that housing for them (and I really want to get out of this place asap). So keeping my fingers crossed for that.

To finish off, here are the full images of the buttons on top, featuring the leaders of the Serion Homeworld Army Retrieval Squadron. Enjoy!

Coloring Tutorial + Hiatus

Firstly, want to thank mah best bro Luke for kicking me into keeping up with my blog. Really wouldn’t have bothered a few weeks ago and probably still wouldn’t have until now. I love you buddy. <3

Secondly, I mentioned it because I won’t be updating for the next few weeks. Studying, nursing test, hoping to pass this time, intense times like woah.

And to make sure I satisfy all my possible procrastination outlets and do nothing BUT study for the next twenty or so days, I made one picture I actually took the time to work on enough and be happy with the results. I haven’t done that in who knows how long- most of what I’ve submitted has been largely rough sketches and hastily-colored things. Its also a ward and a reminder that I really only have one chance in this, and I need to make the most of it.

So peace out peeps. I’ll be seeing you soonish.

EDIT: While I'm at it, I made a little walkthrough on it. Hope it helps!
